S45C Medium Carbon Steel

S45C (1045) carbon content usually ranges from 0.42% to 0.48%. It is easier to cutting and process, and its strength and hardness are higher than low-carbon steel, but its plasticity and toughness are poor, making it less conducive to welding. In addition to round shapes, this steel type is also available in square and hexagonal shapes. Medium carbon steel is widely used in various construction and industrial components, such as bolts, gears, sleeves, etc...

The steel codes of different countries are as below:
● American AISI: 1045
● Japanese JIS: S45C
● European Union EN: C45E
● German DIN: C45 / Ck45
● Chinese GB: 45
● International Standard ISO: C45
